In 1999 the 'Margaret Rose Bursary' was established in memory of Margaret Burford, who had been our conductor for 15 years. Since then we have awarded a Bursary, originally of £500 and now of £750, annually to an outstanding young musician from the Forest of Dean with aspirations of a career in music.

We keep in touch with those who have taken part over the years and follow their careers with interest.

The 2009 Bursary Winner was Alice Earll, a violinist.
